DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) is an advanced hair transplant technique where extracted follicles are implanted directly into the scalp using a specialised Choi implanter pen — eliminating the separate channel-creation step used in traditional FUE. The follicle loading, placement and implantation all happen in a single motion.
The time each follicle spends outside the body is minimised, achieving a graft survival rate of 90–95%.
An experienced DHI team can implant 2,000–3,000 grafts per session, while FUE allows 3,000–5,000 grafts. For very large bald areas, FUE may therefore be preferable.
